See the city different

You may have noticed some congestion as you enter and exit Wynyard Quarter. We apologise if this has caused any inconvenience.

Ahead of one of the waterfront’s busiest weekends of the year, please find the adjacent maps and below details of road changes in Wynyard Quarter over Auckland Anniversary weekend.

Daldy Street will be one-way southbound only from 1.30pm Friday 27 – 6am Monday 30 January to assist the heavy flows of traffic leaving the Quarter.

There will be various road closures and car-free streets on Monday 30 January as part of Auckland Transport’s Play Streets event. Jellicoe Street car park will also be closed on Monday.

From Tuesday 31 January the one-way traffic flow system on Daldy Street will resume. Daldy Street will be open to northbound traffic from 6am-1.30pm. In the afternoon this will switch to southbound between the hours of 1.30pm-6am. This system will be in place until the works are complete on the Daldy/Pakenham intersection.

As always, we suggest planning your journey to avoid peak traffic times (7am-9am and 4.30pm-6pm) or using public transport whenever possible. We appreciate your patience as we continue to undertake the necessary infrastructure upgrades on Pakenham Street.

Please see map to your right detailing the current road closures through Wynyard Quarter and suggested alternate routes.

There is currently congestion entering and exiting the Quarter during peak traffic periods (7am-9am and 4.30pm-5.30pm). We suggest planning your journey to avoid these times or using public transport whenever possible.

We are working closely with Auckland Transport and the construction contractors to make improvements to traffic management. The Daldy/Pakenham street intersection works have been expedited and a one-way system will be in place from Monday 23 January.

If you have colleagues returning to work next week, please advise them of this update.

We thank you for your patience as we continue to install the necessary infrastructure upgrades in Wynyard Quarter and we will keep you updated with progress.

For any further queries please contact 09 336 8820.

The Daldy/Pakenham intersection is temporarily closed to build essential service infrastructure under this section of road. Halsey Street between Gaunt and Pakenham streets remains closed due to work being carried out by Auckland Transport, which will be completed late March. Watercare is also conducting work at the intersection of Halsey and Fanshawe streets which will be completed early February.

Please bear with us as we work through alternative options to ease and manage traffic flows such as a possible one-way system through the Daldy/Pakenham intersection.

As always, we encourage you to use alternate transport or avoid peak traffic times wherever possible during this heavy construction period.

Thank you for your patience while this work is carried out and we will keep you updated.
