The Wynyard Crossing pedestrian bridge is in need of some love.
The Crossing will be temporarily closed in order to replace the winch drums that are responsible for pulling the cables to raise each span of the bridge.
The works will take place across two weeks and have been scheduled for the evenings to minimise disruption to pedestrians and water vessels. The works are all expected to be completed by the morning of Tuesday 22 August.
The works require a crane to be placed on the bridge to remove the winch drums. Therefore the bridge will be completely closed to pedestrians during the following times:
West End works
Sun
5/08/18 - 10pm to 6am
Sat
11/08/18 - 10pm to 6am
Sun
12/08/18 – 10pm to 6am
East End works
Mon
13/08/18 – 10pm to 6am
Mon
20/08/18 - 10pm to 6am
Tue
21/08/18 – 10pm to 6am
Information for vessels:
From 10pm Sunday 5 August to 6am Monday 13 August only the East span will be operational for vessels.
From 10pm Sunday 13 August to 6am Wednesday 22 August only the West span will be operational for vessels.
