Wynyard Quarter continues to grow with a new roadway development kicking off.

21 June 2018 Update: Tiramarama Way Opens

A brand new laneway is opening up in Wynyard Quarter, with innovative design features that represent an interpretation of the original shoreline of Waitemata Harbour.

Literally translated, Tiramarama Way means to shine, glimmer and light the way and sits nestled within the Innovation Precinct. From 29 June 2018 the lane will be open for residents, workers and visitors of Wynyard Quarter to discover its many special design features. These include purposeful puddles designed to rise and fall with the tides and provide an opportunity for play and a stunning suspended light arrangement that celebrates constellations specific to Maori astronomy including Te Punga (The Southern Cross) and Matariki. The lane is East by West link that runs between Halsey and Daldy streets. At the eastern end its leads onto new retailers including Williams Eatery, French patisserie La Petite Fourchette and Wine Runners while at the western end it offers a beautiful view of the Viaduct Harbour.

1November 2018: Tiramarama Way Underway

Panuku Development Auckland has partnered Downer NZ to develop Tiramarama Way in the GridAKL/Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct.

Tiramarama Way is the East by West lane-way running between Daldy & Halsey Street in the current Innovation Precinct development area.

The site was blessed, on Wednesday 1 November with dignitaries from Ngati Whatua Orakei and Ngaati Whanaunga present.

Works are expected to take five months to complete the project.
