Set during the season of Matariki, Te Manawa opens at ASB Waterfront Theatre this Saturday (10 June).

Te Manawa (One Heart, One Soul) tells the love story of Koru and Te Mauri, young lovers from opposing iwi who are bound together by a negotiated truce.

Told through kapa haka, this bilingual production combines dance, song and elements of humour and draws on themes associated with Matariki – navigation, cultivation and the celebration of life – to create a narrative designed to inspire people of all ages to be proud of who they are and where they come from.
